
DEC. 18: There has been an added game next Tuesday. HS Basketball will play Palco at Pratt Community College. The games will be Varsity only starting at 4:opm for Girls and 5:45pm for Boys.

TIS THE SEASON TO GIVE: Yesterday's theme was "Holiday Headwear" if students brought either boxed potatoes or stuffing. Lots of good festive headwear!!
Today's theme is "Holiday Photo" students are to wear flannel. Pictures coming soon!

TONIGHT: HS Spartan Basketball host the Central-Burden Raiders at Dexter. Tip off starts at 4:30pm with 2-Quarters of JV Girls followed by 3-Quarters of JV Boys, Varsity Girls and Varsity Boys. GOOD LUCK!! GO SPARTANS!!

Tomorrow's theme is "Holiday headwear" if Elementary students bring a box of stuffing or MS/HS students brings a box of potatoes.




TONIGHT: Grades K-1 Christmas Music Program, starting at 7:00pm in the HS gym. Admission is Free! The schedule is as follows:
Grades 7-12 Concert Band followed by HS Choir, 7th Grade Choir, 5th & 6th grade Band, Grades 2-6 performing "ElfLandia"and Grades K-1 performing "Santa bring me Snow".

Beginning December 10th through December 13th the Functional Life Skills class will be selling candy-grams during lunch for $0.50. This includes the choice of candy cane with a short note from students and or staff to let their friends, teachers or staff know just how special they are as they wish them happy holidays! Candy-grams will be delivered as a sweet surprise to chosen recipients on Thursday afternoon.


Our new Community Based Instructional class is sponsoring "A Season to Give" Spirit Week next week. To participate, students must bring the requested item listed; Elementary against the Middle/High School. All other details are on the attachment.


TOMORROW: HS Spartan Basketball will head back to Udall for the Don Brady Tournament. They will face the Oxford Wildcats. Tip off is at 4:00pm with Varsity Girls followed by Varsity Boys; approximately 5:30pm.
SATURDAY: HS Spartans will finish the Don Brady Tournament at Udall with the Udall Eagles. Tip off is approximately at 6:00pm with Varsity Girls followed by Varsity Boys.

Congratulations to all who participated in yesterday local spelling bee. Following are the top finishers: 1st place, Paiten Henderson; 2nd place, Lorelai Strausberg; 3rd place, Grace Henderson; 4th place, Kylee Bragg. They will represent Dexter in the Cowley County Spelling Bee on Jan. 16 in Winfield. First alternate is Jeramiah McCaslin and second alternate is Lucas Freeman.

1st and 2nd grades did a science experiment to show how the Grinch’s heart grew 3 times after reading How The Grinch Stole Christmas!


Dexter Elementary students showed their creative talents by making ornaments to decorate our community Christmas tree provided by Dexter’s Senior Citizens group. Come join our community on Saturday, December 8th, to celebrate Christmas in the Valley from 10:00am to 5:00pm.

Our shop teacher, Brian Kuntz, entered for the Harbor Freight shop class grant. He was awarded $1,000 at Harbor Freight for making the semifinals. The picture shows all the new tools bought with the money.

The second Community Based Instruction activity was swimming!





The new Community Based Instruction program experienced their first recreation and leisure activities last week. These activities correlate with classroom academics and promote healthy relationships and physical activities within the community. First activity was Bowling!
